BMI View: The Bank of Ghana's decision to keep interest rates on hold rather than cutting them is encouraging, since it shows an awareness of the upside risks to inflation. We see a number of other macroeconomic risks Ghana may face over the coming 18 months: fiscal overspending; rapid money supply growth; rising imports; increasing debt levels; and general overheating.
