Kwacha To Resist Headwinds

We expect that the Zambian kwacha will remain at about its present level (ZMK4,920.00/US$ at the time of writing), as the currency is supported by a strong balance of payments position and generally favourable investor sentiment. We note, however, that there are risks occasioned by the general elections scheduled on September 20.
