Regular China-Taiwan Flights Still Distant

Although China has agreed to allow direct two-way charter flights to and from Taiwan during the forthcoming Lunar New Year holiday, which begins on February 9, we believe that regular direct commercial air services are unlikely to be established any time soon. The main significance of the latest announcement is that airlines from both sides will be able to fly directly to one another's territory, without passing through a third country.
