A New Start For Israel And The Palestinians?

Although disappointing, Israel's postponement of security talks with the Palestinian Authority (PA) is not necessarily an indication of any long-term threat to the peace process. With high levels of international pressure on both sides, we do not see the incident that precipitated the delay - mortar fire into an Israeli settlement in the Gaza Strip - having a lasting impact on the negotiations. However, it does draw attention to a number of potential risks to the ceasefire.
