January 2006 | Market StrategyNorth Korean leader Kim Jong Il's visit to China once again brings his country's economic future under the spotlight. Kim is slowly but surely seeking to push forward economic reforms, and is seeking Chinese advice and knowhow. One way in which Kim could attract more foreign - and South Korean - investment is by tapping into North Korea's extensive mineral resources. However, until the nuclear dispute is resolved to international satisfaction, foreign interest may be limited.
