AfDB Debt Issue To Help Local Capital Markets

In line with our view of the growth potential of African debt markets, the African Development Bank (AfDB) is preparing to launch a two-year fixed rate Eurobond offering in Ghanaian cedis. This makes the AfDB the first ever supranational borrower to issue debt in a West African currency. The issue will be benchmarked off the Ghanaian government bond curve and is expected to amount to some US$20-30mn.
