November 2006 | Fund NewsA new wave of emerging market funds is gripping Australia, with top local players such as AMP and Macquarie unveiling EM products for investors. Influencing the fund manufacturers heavily is demand from financial planners, who control the lion's share of the fund distribution pie down under. Indeed the BRIC economies (Brazil, Russia, India and China) were one of the key focuses of a recent Portfolio Construction conference held in the country, and Australians are being encouraged to incorporate BRIC exposure into their portfolios.
