A Diplomatic Resolution?
April 2007 | Market AlertThe latest conciliatory comments by Iran's chief international negotiator, Ali Larijani, on the standoff over the 15 British navy personnel back-up our view that a diplomatic resolution is on the horizon. Speaking to a British television channel, Larijani declared that Iran wishes to 'solve the problem through proper diplomatic channels' and that they are not 'interested in letting this issue get further complicated', notably dropping the demand for an explicit apology. At the same time, Tehran has promised not to air any further videos of the servicemen, citing 'positive changes' from the British side. London has responded to Tehran's gestures
