December 2007 | Sovereign Risk RatingAs 2007 draws to a close, Latin America looks to have chalked up another impressive year of above-trend growth, expanding on average by 4.9% according to BMI's preliminary estimates. It has continued to enjoy a surplus in the balance of payments, with the accumulated current account likely to end the year approximately 1.0% of GDP in the black. Of more significance, perhaps, the region is coping with a growing number of challenges.
