S&P Upgrade: A Mistimed Move?
June 2009 | Market StrategyOn June 15, ratings agency Standard & Poor's (S&P) raised its long-term sovereign credit rating on Ecuador from 'SD' to 'CCC+' (with a stable outlook), in a move which we believe raises considerable moral hazard concerns, potentially increasing the possibility of a further default down the line.
