Disinflation To Persist, For The Time Being

BMI View: Disinflation is forecast to persist throughout the remainder of 2009, before downward pressures on prices ease as we head into 2010. Against this inflationary backdrop, we expect the Monetary Authority of Singapore to maintain its neutral stand towards the currency at its next policy meeting in October as it continues to focus its attention on sagging growth.
