'Decoupling' Largely Illusory

BMI View: Recent suggestions that Asian economies are 'decoupling' from the US are misplaced. Asia is indeed bouncing back, but this reflects massive fiscal and monetary stimulus efforts by the region's governments. Yet these are unsustainable and could jeopardise macroeconomic stability over the medium term.
