Proposed Currency Union Far From Sweet

Despite the confident rhetoric surrounding the currency union between five Latin American economies, we doubt the Sucre will have any appeal beyond its immediate members. Economic mismanagement of its member states and the currency's politically-motivated nature suggest that while feasible over the short term, few will view it as a credible regional currency.
