Creditworthiness Improving As Global Recession Abates
November 2009 | Sovereign Risk RatingThe latest quarterly update of our Sovereign Risk Ratings (SRR) has seen an across-the-board improvement in creditworthiness for all of the 19 Sub-Saharan African countries we rate. The average composite score (which is a weighted average of Ability to Pay and Willingness to Pay components) has risen to 57.0, from 50.8 recorded in our previous SRR published on September 3, 2009. This change has largely come about thanks to improved growth prospects, and especially, a more constructive outlook for commodity prices as the global recession abates.
