President Cristina Fernández's meeting with her Brazilian counterpart Luis Inacio Lula da Silva in mid-November seems to have brought at least some calm to the trade dispute between the two countries, with both countries recognising some 'irregularities' vis-à-vis WTO rules. Tensions have arisen as a result of Argentina's imposition of so called non-automatic import licenses on Brazilian products, which triggered a retaliatory move by the north-eastern neighbour.
