BMI View: Argentina's import restrictions have caused noticeable consternation among neighbouring trading-partners, stoking tensions with Brazil in particular. Although we do not expect any major fall out from this dispute, with recent talks having defused tensions, we view it as yet another manifestation of an ill-conceived economic policy designed to protect local industry.
