A major re-pricing is underway in Central and Eastern European (CEE) fixed income and currency markets, underpinned by shifting interest rate expectations and stronger relative macroeconomic potential in several key emerging markets. At its core, the shift is owed to growing expectations for a weaker recovery in the eurozone, with the Greek sovereign crisis highlighting serious problems of over-leverage, deflationary credit conditions and stagnant demand in western Europe.
