Picking up from where we left off in Tuesday's Latin America Daily Financial Alert (May 18), our bearish stance on LatAm equities remains firmly in place. Rising uncertainty in global markets - not least following Germany's financial regulator BaFin's decision to ban naked short selling of the country's top 10 financial institutions, eurozone government debt and credit default swaps on eurozone government debt effective since May 19 - has seen a continued flight to safety by investors, hurting stocks and benefiting 'safe haven' government bonds.
