An outbreak of a rare, aggressive form of dengue fever in one of Peru's Amazonian provinces has prompted a rapid response by Peru's national government. So far, tens of people have died and approximately 10,000 are infected. Governments across Latin America are preparing to boost a campaign for the prevention of dengue fever, following 1,000 deaths and about 1.5mn infections in 2010.
