In our inaugural sovereign ratings index in March, we identified three categories of Asian economies. At the top, rated A, were South Korea, Malaysia, and China. Thailand held the middle ground, rated B, while the riskier South East Asian economies, Indonesia and the Philippines, were rated C and D respectively. This has not changed, although the last two countries have seen an increase in their total ratings, and Thailand has seen a slight decrease.
