BMI View: We believe that the impact across Asia of any potential currency crisis in Vietnam would probably be limited, given that virtually all the countries in the region are better protected by trade surpluses and high levels of reserves. The two countries with the greatest similarity to Vietnam right now are Pakistan and Sri Lanka, neither of which are 'mainstream' economies.
