Malaysia's political woes are threatening to erupt into a full blown crisis after the country's main opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim took refuge in the Turkish embassy, having allegedly received threats on his life. In addition, in a turn of events which has drawn parallels to the country's worst ever political crisis a decade ago, Anwar is once again facing charges of sodomy, an offence for which he was previously imprisoned, but recently exonerated of by the Supreme Court.
