With signs that the hitherto inexorable strength across the commodity universe may soon be set to give way (see Commodities Over The Edge, August 5 2008), renewed concerns over global growth are rapidly resurfacing, spelling yet further downside for Asian equities. However, with lower commodity prices helping to ease inflationary woes across the region, local debt markets look well poised to extend upon their recent gains.
